We are now looking for a Registered Nurse to join our growing team at The Maltings on a full-time day contract.

Key Responsibilities 

  1. To ensure that appropriate individual care is given to each resident, in accordance with the Care Plans and to update care plans as and when required including keeping accurate records of drug administration, accidents and incidents and complaints.
  2. To help residents with problems of mobility and other physical disabilities (e.g. incontinence), helping with the use of disability aids and caring for the same, where appropriate including making the appropriate referrals to community services.
  3. Participate fully in the overall care of the residents, enabling quality of life through effective direct and delegated care and services.
  4. Take responsibility for The Home in the absence of the Home Manager/Deputy Manager.
  5. Act professionally at all times, working with the NMC professional code of conduct. The Care Standard Act 2000, the Care Home Regulation 2001 and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety as outlined by the Care Quality Commission.
  6. Evidence ongoing self-development. Attend all statutory training sessions, and other training sessions both clinical and professional development sessions to comply with professional requirements, making certain that personal practice remains evidence based.
  7. Take accountability for the medication rounds making sure that medication is administered strictly in line with Fortava Healthcare’s policies and procedures adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Practice and the NMC Guidelines for the Administration of Medications.
  8. To help with the organisation of social activities and to participate in them to help promote residents’ physical and mental wellbeing. To accompany residents on community visits where required and as duty rotas permit.
  9. To monitor and control residents’ nutritional and dietary requirements in line with the MUST guidelines.
  10. To help serve food, assisting residents with eating and drinking as required. To prepare light meals and snacks if required, liaising with kitchen staff as necessary.
  11. To care for residents who may be temporarily sick or needing nursing procedures or intervention.
  12. To monitor residents’ conditions and report any changes to the Manager as necessary.
  13. To assist GP’s and other Healthcare professionals when they visit the Home including liaising with GP’s, health visitors, social workers, local hospitals and other community workers, and arrange visits as necessary.
  14. To help maintain a safe and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations. To report all accidents to the Manager.
  15. To read and write reports including updating care plans and to participate in staff and residents’ meetings as appropriate including shift handovers.
  16. Ensure the residents received the highest standard of care by providing effective day to day supervision, communication and management of staff, any member of staff from the multi-disciplinary team and relatives.
  17. Additional responsibility may be allocated in a specific clinical area of the Home e.g. ordering and checking medication, infection control, tissue viability, continence management, peg feeding, syringe driving (end of life care) diabetes management, dysphagia.
  18. To participate in training activities / course, as directed by senior staff.
  19. To assist with End-of-Life for residents who are terminally ill.
  20. Including any Nursing Inventions of Monitoring that is required.
  21. To assist in the marketing of the Home including showing prospective clients around the premises.
  22. To undertake other duties as necessary.

Maintenance Operative

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic team at Wilford View. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and operational home for our elderly residents. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong practical skills to take on day to day maintenance of the care home.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Operative ensures the safe, effective, and compliant upkeep of the home through planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responsive repairs. The role includes completing routine checks, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all systems and equipment operate efficiently. Duties cover general maintenance such as plumbing, joinery, and minor electrical work, along with inspecting and repairing fixtures, fittings, and equipment.

KEY RESPONISIBILITES:

  1. Carry out PPM’s
  2. Carry out daily, weekly, monthly checks as required
  3. Input data into check sheets when required
  4. Carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks including plumbing, joinery, and minor electrical work.
  5. Inspect and repair fixtures, fittings, furniture, and equipment throughout the home.
  6. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure timely completion.
  7. Maintain all logbooks
  8. Carry out daily fire checks
  9. Help staff moving heavy objects with the correct lifting equipment
  10. Attend courses and complete HIPPO
  11. Report to the site manager in my absence
  12. Maintain all systems on a daily basis
  13. Attend any courses for maintenance as required
  14. Supervise the part time painter/maintenance person

 

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Driving Licence
  • Physical ability to carry out maintenance tasks
  • Caring attitude
  • Must be able to demonstrate working as a team member
  • Maintenance experience in mechanical and electrical

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

  • NVQ L3 general maintenance
  • FRA L3
  • L8
  • PAT testing certification
  • Working in a dementia environment

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

The post holder is responsible for keeping their knowledge and skills current, as well as attending all mandatory training sessions provided by the home.

Enrichment & Wellbeing Lead

As the Enrichment & Wellbeing Lead at Stapleford View, you will play a central role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by delivering a meaningful, engaging, and cognitively stimulating programme of activities. Your work will ensure that every resident is supported to live a joyful and purposeful life, regardless of their physical or cognitive ability.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering a holistic enrichment programme that incorporates clinically proven interventions to promote wellbeing, memory care, and a harmonious living environment. This role works collaboratively with the Cognitive Outcomes Lead and fellow Activities Leads across other Fortava Healthcare homes to share best practice and maintain consistently high standards.
