About Fortava Healthcare

Fortava Healthcare is a new and forward-thinking specialist dementia care provider based in Peterborough with a bold vision: to transform the standard of dementia care in the UK. At the heart of our approach is a deep commitment to innovation, compassion, and evidence-based practice.

As part of our launch, Fortava has acquired two purpose-built 50-bed care homes – The Maltings and Thorpe Wood. Both embody our unique model of care, offering warm, homely environments underpinned by therapeutic approaches that genuinely enhance our patients’ quality of life.

Our Ethos

At all homes, our care approach is supported by a Cognitive Outcomes Lead – a specialist dedicated to tracking evidence-based data, monitoring resident progress, and ensuring our practice remains aligned with the latest research.

Central to their role is overseeing Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST), a clinically proven, person-centred programme designed to enhance mental wellbeing, engagement, and cognitive function for people living with dementia.

They deliver comprehensive CST training to all staff and ensure the consistent, high-quality use of outcome measures across our homes, so every resident benefits from truly life-enriching care. With guidance from our Cognitive Outcomes Lead, CST is delivered as part of a structured, outcomes-focused approach that helps residents connect, thrive, and live with purpose.
