Fortava Healthcare brings specialist dementia care model to Nottingham with focus on local staff and specialist support
A new specialist dementia care provider is expanding into Nottingham, bringing an innovative approach designed to improve everyday life for people living with dementia.
Fortava Healthcare — one of the UK’s newest forward-thinking care operators — has taken over three established Nottinghamshire care homes: Long Eaton View, Stapleford View, and Wilford View.
The move marks Fortava’s first step into the Nottingham area and forms part of the company’s mission to rethink how specialist dementia care for residents with multifaceted needs is delivered across the country.
Founded in 2025, Fortava focuses exclusively on supporting people living with complex dementia needs. Rather than traditional residential care, the organisation uses a specialist model centred around Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) — an evidence-based approach that reducing cognitive decline, improve communication, confidence and social interaction through structured daily activities.
Chief Executive and Co-Founder Johann van Zyl said the company is excited to become part of the local community.
“We’re incredibly proud to be joining Nottingham. These homes already play an important role locally, and our goal is to build on that by introducing a specialist dementia care model focused on wellbeing, dignity and meaningful daily experiences for residents.”
The three homes are purpose-built services designed specifically for people living with dementia. Fortava says residents and families will see continuity of care, with investment focused on staff development, therapeutic environments and enhanced activities aimed at improving quality of life.
The organisation plans to work closely with existing teams, local healthcare partners and families as the homes transition into Fortava’s care approach.
